Go Pioneers!!!

Frankenstein Paragraph

Was the monster more human than Frankenstein? I think so, all he wanted was to love and be loved.
The monster told Frankenstein in the book that he wanted him to create another person like the monster but, in female form so that he would have a lover like Frankenstein did, yet Frankenstein didn't fulfill his wishes so he killed Frankenstein's best friend that he went to school with. Then the monster told Frankenstein, since I can't have a wife to love neither can you, I will kill Elizabeth. The day after the wedding of the marriage of Frankenstein and his beloved Elizabeth, the monster took the life of  Elizabeth. This shows that the monster thought since he had to be alone in his life, his creator did too.

What does it mean to be human?

The human race; one of two species on earth with pose able thumbs. Humans have the ability to comprehend, the ability to think, to question, to reason, and the most important; the ability to love, as well as the ability to be morose. Why is it that we have the ability to do these things and other creatures cannot? This is a thought many people have questioned, what does it mean to be human?

If I had the Power to Create a monster.....

If I had the power to create a monster like Frankenstein did it would more than likely be a dog/human/cat/bear. It would be big like "BIG FOOT".
The first reason I would create a monster is so I could be lazy and he could do every thing for me. He would be more like a servant than a monster.
The second reason I would create a monster, like Frankenstein did is, I would have him go out in the Brumal weather and herd up all the wildlife into my back yard so I could pick which one I wanted to kill first and I could limit out on ducks every day of the season.
My monster would be the biggest, baddest, and scariest around. I would not have to worry about a thing, he would have it all taken care of.

2012 Theme word

Reliable, be more Reliable, As in - a new truck that is more Reliable

I chose the word reliable, because my vehicle is Unwonted, and at this point in time I can not afford to purchase a new vehicle because I do not have a job. So in order for me to purchase a new vehicle that is more reliable, I have to be more reliable myself and get a good paying  job, save up some 2,000 dollars and sell my unreliable vehicle. This is a major goal I would like to reach by the end of 2012.

As I look back at the times I have shared with the people in my life working on my unreliable vehicle I can not complain, sometimes just being with you dad and grandfather working on your not so great vehicle can actually bring you closer together. Additionally many many many memories have been made in the old Toyota and I am going to hate to see it go but love to watch it leave, selling it is yet another move I have to make to follow the steps it takes to have the career and life I want to have.

Argument: Duck Season Should be Extended

Assertion/Claim = Main Idea

  • There are more ducks in Arkansas than there has been in years, therefore duck season should be extended.
Evidence- Concrete Detail:

  • Observers with the Annual Breeding Population & Habitat Survey counted an estimated 45.6 million birds on the breeding grounds; that is an 11% increase over last year & is a 35% above the long-term average.
  • Commentary 1: This year is the States 14th consecutive 60-day season with a 6-duck bag limit .                                Why won't they extend it to a 70-day season?
  • Commentary 2: The ducks are here and still coming, just 10 more days would be nice.

  • This year is the highest count since the Annual Survey began in 1955. The Mallard Fall Flight Index of an estimated 11.1 million birds is similar to last year's number.
  • Commentary1: Just because we have all these birds does in no way mean that we will have good hunting in the first two parts of the season due to the fact of warmer weather.
  • Commentary2: Why should we hunt when it is so warm we will sweat and we know we aren't going to kill a bird.

  • Opposing Claims/They Say: The duck population is growing, we should let the population continue to rise and save the ducks for out later generations.
  • My Rebuttal/I Say: The ducks are not going extinct, the long-term average has grown 35 percent.
